Soup Refill Station

For today we ordered their famous dishes which is Ayam Geprek Original, Cheesy Ayam Geprek, Ayam Panggang and Salted Egg Chicken. For ayam geprek menus, we can choose the level from 1-10 where level 1 is no spicy flavour and level 10 is the most spicy one.

Ayam Geprek is crispy fried chicken served with sambal bajak is Indonesian — more precisely Yogyakarta Javanese cuisine — fried chicken dish consisting of fried chicken that served with sambal bajak, a sambal made using a real Indonesian shrimp paste. The chicken is then being pushed into soft pieces than mixed it with the spicy sambal. We ordered the ayam geprek with level 9 of spiciness. It is though to eat the chicken as the sambal is very spicy. However, the chicken is very crispy and if it is combined with sweet soy sauce, the taste become very balanced and it is more possible to eat it this way.

Ayam Geprek Original

Next, Cheesy Ayam Geprek is our next menu. Overall, it is the same as Ayam Geprek Original, but the difference is only on the cheese. This menu got melted mozzarella on the top of the chicken. The cheese is said to help to naturalize the spiciness of the sambal. For today chessy ayam geprek, we challenge ourselves to try the level 10 of spiciness. No words to be said, it is indeed very spicy. After the chicken went in to our mouth, the sambal directly make their move and attack our mouth. Our mouth suddenly became very numb. However, it is a nice try to eat this menu. But remember, for you guys who cannot eat spicy or have low tolerance on spicy food, please avoid ordering ayam geprek above level 3.

Cheesy Ayam Geprek

Moving on to the next menu is Ayam Panggang. Ayam panggang is a grilled chicken dish which is cook along sweet soy sauce and soy sauce. It is one of the famous Indonesian food which has a sweet flavor. This dish is very popular and very recommended for people who cannot handle spicy food. The dish is serve with spicy sauce which is make with sweet soy sauce, chili sauce and a little pinch of lime. The sauce is topped with fried shallot which is the famous garnish for Indonesian food.

Ayam Panggang

Lastly, we ordered Salted Egg Chicken. In fact, salted egg chicken is not a dish which is originated from Indonesia, but it is very famous dish in Indonesia right now. Salted egg chicken is a fried chicken which is cooked along with egg that has been salted to get the salty flavor. But the flavor then is not salty at all as it is combine with milk to make a perfect flavor. The salted egg chicken has a very nice texture of chicken and the salted egg flavor is very flavorful. The dish is served with perfect sunny side egg. This dish is very recommended when you come to Kotak.

Arrison Aiyu

One of best healthy desserts in Malaysia!

Good day for everyone who is reading this post! Let’s take a break from the boba tea reviews. There are already seven reviews about boba tea, hope you guys can check those posts before and hope you guys are not bored by reading those post.

Now we are going to talk about one of best desserts that we have ever tried. The dessert that we are going to talk about today is Arrison Aiyu which serves the best Aiyu Jelly. Do you guys have any idea about what is Aiyu Jelly? Aiyu Jelly is jelly made from the gel from the seeds of the awkeotsang creeping fig found in Taiwan and East Asian countries of the same climates and latitudes. The jelly is not commonly made or found outside of Taiwan and Singapore, though it can be bought fresh in specialty stores in Japan and canned in Chinatowns.

Arrison Aiyu does not only sell aiyu jelly menus, they are now selling the very trendy fluffy Japanese Pancake which is called Soufflé Pancake. Soufflé is a baked egg-based dish which originated in early eighteenth century France. It is made with egg yolks and beaten egg whites combined with various other ingredients and served as a savory main dish or sweetened as a desserts.

Today we are trying three of their menu which is Brown Sugar Peach Gum Aiyu Jelly, Bubble Tea Soufflé Pancake and Crème Brûlée Soufflé Pancake.

Brown Sugar Peach Gum Aiyu Jelly is a kind of jelly desert bowl which contains aiyu jelly, dried longan, peach gum jelly, gingko seeds and some ice. The dessert has a very balance taste of sweetness. Even though the brown sugar has a very sweet taste it connects with natural taste of the aiyu jelly. Anyway you guys notice why we ordered brown sugar right. We guess we can never left brown sugar out of our life.

Next we are going to talk about Bubble Tea Soufflé Pancake. Do you guys read it correctly? Yes! We are trying the Bubble Tea Pancake. We are going to have the taste of boba again. The pancake has a very jiggly and fluffy texture. It has a very soft texture which when it combines with the bubble tea cream, the pancake melts in our mouth. But the bad thing is that you can not expect the boba is as delicious as the normal boba that we drink from the boba store as the boba is hard and not soft and chewy which makes it hard to eat it. But overall, the pancake is worth to try.

Bubble Tea Soufflé Pancake

Lastly, we are going to review about the Crème Brûlée Soufflé Pancake. You guys have idea right about what Crème Brûlée is right? Crème brûlée, also known as burnt cream or Trinity cream, is a dessert consisting of a rich custard base topped with a texturally contrasting layer of hardened caramelized sugar. It is normally served slightly chilled; the heat from the caramelizing process tends to warm the custard producing a cool center. The pancake also has the fluffy texture and soft which goes well with the crème brûlée topping. The sugar is caramelized well which make the taste very sweet but the nice feeling of sweet. This menu is also included as our recommended dessert.

Tiger Sugar

A tiger boba is ready to pounce on you!

Hello GUYYSS!! A very good day for you guys boba lovers or maybe not boba lovers or soon to be a boba lover. It’s been a while since we talked about boba review but we are back now. Till now there are already six reviews about boba tea. Any of you guys still do not have any idea about what is bubble tea ? Bubble tea is a kind of beverages of milk which sometimes combined with tea or fruit tea. Boba is a topping which put together with the milk tea which made from tapioca flour that are rolled and shaped into round bals. Toppings for bubble tea are not always boba, it can also be pudding, fruit jelly, aloe vera jelly, grass jelly, popping bubble and coffee jelly. So many kinds of jelly huh? Now you guys have a clear view of what bubble tea is, right ?Then we can proceed to talk about our boba today.

Today’s boba tea that we are going to talk about is Tiger Sugar. Its kind of funny, right ? We got bear, whale, deer and dragon boba tea. Now we have the tiger boba tea in town. Do you know why the drinks is called “Tiger Sugar” boba tea? It is because it has to do with the boba tea unique presentation. The cups of boba tea that is being presented to the customers are coated with brown sugar which are said to resemble the stripes of a tiger when the milk is poured in. Now you guys know why it is called Tiger Sugar Boba Tea. Tiger Sugar is one of the famous bubble tea branches which originated from Taiwan. Its actually a very young bubble tea store and they opened their first store on November 2017 in Taiwan. Furthermore, Tiger Sugar came to Malaysia and opened their first branch in Sunway Pyramid on January 2019.

Tiger Sugar Sunway Pyramid
Tiger Sugar Sunway Pyramid
Tiger Sugar Sunway Pyramid
Tiger Sugar Sunway Pyramid

Today we visited one of Tiger Sugar branches in Sunway Pyramid which is also their first branch in Malaysia. The bubble tea store is only a small shop or stand that sells boba tea. It’s very different compared to the boba tea stores that we have visited in the last six boba reviews. They have limited seats for people to enjoy the boba where they only have two tables and four chairs for each table. So that is why it is only fitted for eight customers. This is a kind of sad thing as many people would like to enjoy their boba tea in the boba tea store rather than finding free seats. The store is only a rectangular shape of boba store which is located at in front of top man shop. The store is located at lower ground floor.

Brown Sugar Boba Milk with Cream Mousse

For this boba tea review, we are going to try their famous menu and their best selling one as well which is Brown Sugar Boba Milk with Cream Mousse. The menu is kept simple to highlight its signature Tiger Brown Sugar syrup, which is made up of four types of Taiwanese brown sugar syrup. Only fresh milk is used for drinks, in addition to crystal clear ice made from filtered water, not unlike the ones used for premium whisky. Most importantly, the boba pearls – which are cooked in brown sugar – are made in small batches to maintain freshness in each cup. This is why they are named as their best selling menu. They served the drink with warm boba which is coated with brown sugar. The drink will be poured by a cold fresh milk to make it a perfect boba brown sugar milk tea.

Tiger Sugar Menu

Tiger Sugar now have six branches across Malaysia by June 2019

The front store of the store is very pretty looking, they got a beautiful whale painting beside their store which can be a photo spot to take Instagram pictures. The interior of the store is very pretty and very minimalist. They only use black, white and beige base color for their store. Inside the store, there are many whale designs such as whale tail. They also got a small whale miniature which is very cute. We forget to take the picture of the doll but just got a sneak peak of it.

After discussing about the store and the history of The Black Whale, now let’s talk about the drink. The Black Whale’s Brown Sugar Series are all served by using the hand-made brown sugar which is freshly prepared daily, each cup is served freshly. They claim that they serve the best Brown Sugar Black Whale Milk Tea and we can agree with that statement as well. Their Brown Sugar Milk Tea is very delicious as well and the boba is very chewy. We also ordered their famous Brown Sugar Black Whale Avocado Milk which has a very oriental taste of the avocado. This menu is also very recommended.

Other than the Brown Sugar Milk Tea, we also got to try their other desserts which is Fiery Creme Brulee and Dark Choco Ice Cream. Actually their Creme Brulee is not really nice to our preference and I think the amount is very small compared to the price. However, they did great on their Dark Choco Ice Cream which is very delicious and worth trying.
